A_Phake

a_phake is the moniker of Trinidadian musician, singer-songwriter, vocalist & producer Ravi Maharaj.
The artist first started experimenting with electronic music in 2007 after 10 years in the fringe of indie rock.
His debut album – Dark Side Of the Mind was released in 2008. It was a strong departure from straight ahead conventional songwriting, mixing electronic beats with cut, pitched & effected vocals.
Since then a_phake has developed his writing style & vocal technique to produce songs that are both memorable & original. His frequent collaborations with other producers/ musicians often result in sounds that are new & refreshing.
As a producer a_phake continues to challenge himself to make songs that are both emotionally appealing, original in approach & provoking to the brain. As a musician, he has set a goal to learn to play the piano by the end of 2011. And performance-wise, a_phake continues adopt new & interesting ways to intrigue audiences with his sound.
